Tick Bites Lyme Disease

Tick Bites & Lyme Disease Detection in Aberdeen, NJ

The warmer months between April and September are typically known for outdoor activities including hiking and camping. While being outdoors can be fun, the fun can stop when a tick latches onto you. At AFC Urgent Care Aberdeen, we provide On-Site Testing for Lyme Disease and perform tick removal procedures on a walk-in basis.

Between 3-30 days following the bite, some individuals may experience tick-borne illness symptoms including:

  • Bull’s Eye Pattern Rash
  • Fatigue
  • Fever
  • Swelling
  • Stiffness
  • Headache
  • Nausea
  • Dizziness

Don’t let the fear of a tick bite keep you from enjoying the outdoors! Some ways you can reduce your risks of getting bitten include:

  • Wearing protective clothing for outdoor activities
  • Walking in the center of hike trails
  • Conducting full-body checks after outdoor activities
  • Showering immediately after outdoor

Our Walk-In Clinic can test your tick-borne symptoms for Lyme Disease as well as remove ticks latched onto the skin. You can visit us weekdays from 8 AM - 8 PM and weekends from 8 AM - 5 PM. We accept most major Health Insurances and provide low-cost care for self-pay patients.

AFC Urgent Care FAQs

  • Why choose AFC for Urgent Care?

With state-of-the-art centers and a professional medical team, AFC provides on-site X-rays, labs, procedures, and more!

  • What's the difference between AFC Urgent Care and emergency room services?

Urgent care is for medical conditions that require prompt attention but do not pose an immediate threat to your health or life. Here is a simple rule of thumb: if your medical issues(s) are life threatening, call 911, or go directly to a hospital emergency room. If not, an urgent care center such as AFC is an excellent alternative.
